Saab Spotting - Winter 2020 and 2021

As you would guess, New England Winters don't usually provide much when it comes to car spotting. I don't blame you classic car owners either, as I wouldn't want my classic to be subjected to such conditions either. This Winter was no exception, with only three, yes, that's right, three cars found! I'm sure I saw more cars, but this is what I have for this Winter season.

December 26, 2020: 1995 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible

This Saab lived a few streets over from me, and it was a daily driver for some time before the owner moved away, or sold the car. It ended up disappearing soon after the Winter. I wanted to document it, and I finally did as I was walking home from work one day. While I feel the second generation 900 is overlooked by its predecessor, it is one of the last "true Saabs" before GM's takeover in the early 2000s.

February 15, 2021: Our Saab 9-3X with another Saab 9-5 Aero

Here's another photo I took with our Saab 9-3X, again with a similar black 9-5 Aero. This was taken at work, as one of my coworker's cars happened to conveniently be a Saab. I never learned who owned it, and as time went on the car disappeared, as they either left the store or bought a new car. I wish I learned who owned it though.

March 3, 2021: 1999 Saab 9-3 Convertible

We wrap up the winter section by coming full circle with another Saab convertible. This time, we have the 9-3, which looks very similar to the 900 from above. Saab carried over the 2nd gen 900 body style to the new 9-3 for the 1999 model year. It was updated in 2003 to the more common 9-3. Saab enthusiasts consider this and the 900 the last "true Saab," along with the first gen Saab 9-5 from 1999 to 2005.
