Old Volvos on Campus - Winter 2022

March 2, 2022: 1996 Volvo 850 GLT Sportswagon

I believe this is the first Volvo 850 officially spotted! This was spotted on Flagg Rd. towards the top of campus. I've always liked the 850, it's one of the last boxy Volvos before the second generation V and S70s in the early 2000s. This one is a GLT as well, which gives it a little more swagger. I'm unsure if the "Sportswagon" badge was added by the owner, or if its a trim spec from Volvo. In my research, I couldn't find much about that designation. If anyone knows more, feel free to leave a comment. If it's a fake badge, let us know too!

March 3, 2022: 1993 Volvo 240

This was spotted in the faculty lot near the fine arts building. It's good to know some professor is daily driving an old Volvo!

March 8, 2022: 1990 Volvo 240 DL

Another Volvo 240 on campus! This time it was in the student lot known as the Plains lot, since it's located out by some fields. I occasionally see this car drive around campus too. I think I gave its owner a thumbs up once.
