Conntech Saab - Fall 2022
Like the first Conntech Saab entry from November 2020, I took a nice bike ride on a cool fall afternoon to visit the Conntech lot to see if they had any new Saabs in stock. Sure enough they did, and a good selection too. I think you'll enjoy what we have to show. You can also read the full entry on our car blog here.
1998 Saab 9000 CSE Turbo
First up is this '98 Saab 9000 CSE. This makes the third 9000 I've been up close to, and the fourth I've officially spotted. I don't see these often, but when I do, it's worth showing. '98 was the last year of the 9000 before it was succeeded by the 9-5. These will always be a dream Saab to have for my collection one day.
1992 Saab 900 Combi Coupe
Here is a gorgeous Saab 900. It's just the 900 base model, with no S or Turbo badging. As a Saab enthusiast, I don't care! It's a 900, and a damn near mint one, and I'm content with that.
1992 Saab 900 Sedan: Could this be the Seekonk Saab?
Here's another white base model 900, this time a sedan. Last summer Sam discovered a very similar 900 sedan that was found at a garage in Seekonk. We appropriately nicknamed it the "Seekonk Saab." He was too far to take any decent pictures of it, but it was clear that the car was a white 900 sedan. I'm very curious if this is the same car, because I don't know of that many white 900 sedans in the RI and MA area. I do plan to investigate if the Seekonk Saab is still where Sam found it soon, so stay tuned!
Saab 9000 CSE Turbo: A Dead Saab
Now we have the fourth 9000 I've been up close to. Although, this Saab has a rather sad story, a real Saab story. This car was just listed on Marketplace around the time this photo was taken. Apparently it has a blown piston ring, but the engine still runs. If anyone's looking for a cheap 9000 project, here you go!
