Saab and Volvo Spotting - Fall 2020
Here are the Saabs and Volvos spotted during Fall of 2020. There is a pretty decent selection for you to see here, with a P1800, submitted by my friend Sam, as well as some 240s and a 900 we've seen before...
September 30, 2020: Volvo P1800
This Volvo was spotted by my friend Sam, the co-founder of Old New England Cars. It appears to be a model produced from 1970 to '72, or at the very least a 1970 model. I can tell based on the grille design. Earlier P1800s had an "egg-crate" grille design, later models had a solid black design.
Here's what Sam has to say about this P1800: "There's not much to say about this car, other than it appeared to be a clean, solid example of a P1800. I passed it outside a storefront in Newport a few times, but never stopped to check it out. It must have sold awhile back because a year later, it wasn't there."
October 17, 2020: A Pair of Volvo 240s
These old Swedes were photographed on the same day I got to view Jim's car collection. You can read about that here. They appear to be his neighbor's cars, and are also very well maintained. I'm sure Jim has had a hand in that!
October 25, 2020: Our 2010 Saab 9-3X with a Saab 9-5 Aero
I of course couldn't help myself to seize the opportunity to take a picture of my family's Saab with another Saab found in the wild. Here is a pretty nice 9-5 Aero from New Hampshire! Despite what the 9-5's plate may show, this photo was taken in Cranston, RI, but I do wish I was the one visiting this Saab instead of it visiting us. I miss New Hampshire.
November 8, 2020: 1993 Saab 900 Turbo Revisited
Throwback to our very first post on the blog! On the same day I visited Conntech Saab, I also swung by to check up on this 900. It still appeared to be doing well, which I was happy to see. I especially like how the rear louvres look on the back window! I hope to revisit this car again soon.
