1995 Saab 9000 CSE Turbo: A Saab On Campus!

September 2021 marked the beginning of my freshman year at the University of Rhode Island. While out walking around on a weekend afternoon, I came across this 9000, which was unbelievable. What makes this even better was that I got to meet its owner, Ben!

This 9000 has an interesting story. Ben got this car for free from a friend, however, there was a reason why it was free. The car needed lots of work done to it, and it ended up costing Ben roughly $1500 to get the car squared away and running. However, it really hasn't given him any issues since, and he daily drives this to school.

It does have some minor inconveniences, like any old car would. The odometer had stopped working, but he estimates that there's roughly 75k on the car itself, which is very low for a 9000. He also mentioned the radio wasn't working, so I brought it up to Sam as a potential interest. However, these types of digital radios aren't his specialty, so he respectfully declined.

Overall, the car was in really good condition, and I was glad to have met another Saab enthusiast on campus. Thank you to Ben for showing your car, and allowing me to take pictures of it!
