Saab and Volvo Spotting - Fall 2022

Here are some of the cars spotted during the fall months of 2022. There's a decent selection of cars here, so I hope you enjoy what we found.

September 23, 2022: Volvo 240 Sedan

This was spotted by Sam in Princeton, New Jersey. It was spotted at a garage near by his campus that normally has old European classics parked at it. It looks to be a pretty solid car, but could use a little TLC and some new bumper mounts.

Sam: "This is not the same 240 I photographed late last year outside of my chemistry class.  I've seen that car once since moving in this year, and it hasn't changed a bit.  So there's at least two white 240s around campus."

November 4, 2022: 2003 Saab 9-3 SE Convertible

As I was heading back to my dorm, I was pleasantly surprised to see this red Saab convertible parked close by. I'm unsure if this belongs to a student, but regardless, this was a nice Saab 9-3 'vert.

November 4, 2022: 1985 Volvo 245 DL Revisited

If you recall from Spring of last year, I spotted this Volvo in passing on my way down to school. To reference that original post, click here. This time, I found it parked on the side of the road as I was heading back home from school. 

This Volvo had also been listed on marketplace for sale. From the listing description, I was able to learn that it was indeed a 1985 car, equipped with a 5 speed manual, and came from the west coast. If I had the money, I'd scoop it up, but if anyone in the Northeast area is looking for a clean 240 wagon with relatively low miles, check this car out. 

November 22, 2022: 1990 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible

Now I know I'm not one to take pictures of cars while I'm driving, but can you really blame me here? This was spotted on Rt. 1 in Kingston, as I was driving down to campus for my last class before Thanksgiving break. I was driving up to the junction of Rt. 1 and Tower Hill Rd, when I noticed off in the distance the distinctive rear tail lights that were only that of a Saab 900. As I grew closer, growing more excited, I pulled out my phone to try and catch a shot of the rear end, but instead got this nice rear quarter shot of it turning into a strip mall. I rarely do see a classic 900 driving, so I was glad to document this occurrence.

December 13, 2022: Volvo 240 Estate at Night

This 240 was spotted by Sam at Princeton while on a late night walk.

Sam: "This was spotted one night as I was heading to work at the university bike shop. I just happened to spot it and snapped a quick pic. I think it's a local car, as I've seen it several more times in the same lot. From what I could see, it looked to be in good shape.  I'll have to take a closer look when I'm back on campus."
